Alternative Therapy for Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis: The Impact of Thymomodulin​

Patient information: A 60 year old man. 100 kgs in weight. Attended Leicester Ozone Clinic on 5 April 2025.. 

​

Main symptoms at presentation: 

  • Long standing skin psoriasis with fleeting joint pains, mainly wrists.

​​

Past illnesses: 

  • Gout.

​

Prescription medication: 

  • None.

​

Diet and supplements: He started recently taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin to help with joint pains. Also on ketogenic diet on and off for a few months. 

​

COVID-19 vaccination status: Unvaccinated.

​

Timeline of Events and therapies received prior to attending Leicester Ozone Clinic:

  • Long standing psoriasis, tried some topical agents in the past on prescription. Occasional ibuprofen for pains. 

​

Therapy received from Leicester Ozone Clinic and therapeutic response: â€‹

  • 05 April 2025: As a result of increasing joint pain, he was started on Thymus Gland Extract containing the active ingredient Thymomodulin 80 mg twice a day.  

  • 10 April 2025: The psoriasis lesions on his skin remained unchanged, but he began experiencing worsening wrist pain and new discomfort in his right knee, requiring increased ibuprofen use. He was noticeably limping during clinic visits and was advised to continue treatment, as these symptoms might represent a "healing reaction."

​Progress report: â€‹

  • 15 April 2025: Joints are slightly better and the psoriasis patches remain active but he noticed a reduction in itching, He continues on oral Thymomodulin.
